Mescalero is a very expressive stallion with a harmonious and well‑proportioned conformation. He possesses excellent gaits, particularly a very supple, relaxed, and rhythmical trot that clearly stands out.

The stallion has a calm and easy‑going temperament and is extremely willing to perform.

On the sire’s side, he traces back via Marduc and Magister to classic Trakehner bloodlines, while his dam Caroline carries Samber on her sire line. On the dam’s side, the influential stallion Bajar adds a noticeable touch of Arabian blood to his pedigree.

Offspring

His offspring have proven very successful since 2003:

At the Landeszuchtschau Schleswig‑Holstein of the ZfdP, his progeny have twice won the 1a prize in the foal classes. At the Bundeszuchtschau of the ZfdP, a colt by Mescalero secured the championship sash in his class. At the Deutsches Fohlenchampionat of the LVM, another colt by him also qualified successfully.

In 2004, a pint mare foal was awarded a score of 8.0 and went on to become reserve champion at the Fohlenchampionat in Bad Segeberg. In 2005, from his first foal crop, a pint stallion was approved by the Pferdestammbuch Schleswig‑Holstein Hamburg e.V. and left the Holstenhalle at the NMS as champion stallion. At the Althengstschau in 2005, Mescalero himself was placed first.

In 2006, a pint mare foal again became reserve champion at the Fohlenchampionat in Bad Segeberg. The pint mare Tewdwr Amy v. Mescalero a. d. StPrSt Attika received the two‑year‑old premium and went on to win section champion and overall champion mare across all presented sections at a breeding show, with a score of 8.6. In 2007, Tewdwr Amy successfully completed her SLP and was named breed champion mare at the Elitestutenschau, thereby earning the State Premium title.

In 2007, his offspring also achieved a 1a prize at the Landeszuchtschau in Lentföhrden and reserve champion at the Fohlenchampionat in Bad Segeberg, as well as further premiums for both solid‑coloured and coloured foals. In 2008, at the Althengstschau of the Pferdestammbuch Schleswig‑Holstein, Mescalero was placed in Class I due to his outstanding progeny performance and thus received the title “Elite Stallion”. A mare by him received the two‑year‑old premium, and the pint State Premium mare Tewdwr Amy was for the second time named Landessiegerstute at a DPZV breeding show. At the Fohlenchampionat in Bad Segeberg, Mescalero presented the foal championess in the Pinto class.

In 2009, at the ZfdP licensing in Lentföhrden, a stallion by Mescalero was champion among the special breeds, and his offspring received further premiums. His progeny were again admitted to the Fohlenchampionat in Bad Segeberg. On the Norla breeding show, his dam Caroline was named champion family over all presented families.

In 2010, his offspring again received premiums and were admitted to the Fohlenchampionat in Bad Segeberg. At a mare registration, a mare by Mescalero received the district premium and successfully completed her mare performance test with a score of 7.89, particularly impressing the judges in free jumping (8.5), canter (8.0), rideability (8.0) and under a foreign rider (8.0). Once again, his dam Caroline was named champion family over all presented families at a breeding show and, with her mare foal by Hirtentanz, presented the foal championess in the Pinto class at the Fohlenchampionat in Bad Segeberg.

In 2011, a pint mare received the two‑year‑old premium. Another bay‑pinto mare received the 1st premium at the Elitestutenschau of the Pferdestammbuch Schleswig‑Holstein and was named breed champion and State Premium candidate. During the ZfdP mare registration tour, a mare was entered into the studbook Kleines Deutsches Reitpferd with a score of 8.0 and also received a studbook premium. This mare was awarded the 1b prize in her class at the Landeszuchtschau of the ZfdP in July of that year.

In 2012, another bay‑pinto mare received the 1st premium at the Elitestutenschau and thus the studbook premium as State Premium candidate. In 2013, a pint mare foal won the Fohlenchampionat in Bad Segeberg in her class.

In 2014, at the ZfdP Landes‑ und Bundeszuchtschau, the pint mare Fiena’s Stella Loona von Mescalero (breeders: J. Rohde) was named champion mare. In 2015, at the same ZfdP Landes‑ und Bundeszuchtschau, she was reserve champion mare. In 2016, another pint mare received the State Premium and was named breed champion mare at the Elitestutenschau (breeders: J. Rohde). His offspring have also achieved sport success up to class M in show jumping. At the Fohlenchampionat in Bad Segeberg, he presented the champion foal among the Kleines Deutsches Reitpferde with Söl’rings Mes Espoir.

In 2017, at the ZfdP Landeszuchtschau, the pint mare Pintado’s Lady Gaga von Mescalero (breeders: J. Rohde) was named Landeschampioness.

Limp Bizkit has grown into an impressive horse, distinguished by his remarkably long legs—a trait generously passed down from his sire, Cayanosch, to all his foals. His stature and elegant conformation are complemented by a solid, correct foundation and impeccably regular limbs, along with well-formed, strong hooves.

His temperament is equally noteworthy. Limp Bizkit is friendly, playful, and exudes self-confidence. Like his sire Cayanosch, he exhibits a curious and energetic nature—traits that are even more pronounced in this promising young horse. Fearless and unabashed, Limp Bizkit meets every new experience with enthusiasm, making him a standout in both personality and presence.

Pedigree-wise, Limp Bizkit boasts a rich lineage filled with renowned sires and influential stallions pivotal to the world of horse breeding. On his sire’s side, he carries the blood of luminaries such as Contender, Landgraf I, Ladykiller xx, and Ahorn Z. His dam, a Trakehner mare, brings even more famed heritage, holding a close relation to legendary horses like Totilas, the "Stallion of the Century." Noteworthy ancestors in her lineage include Hofrat, Gribaldi, Kostolany, and the distinguished Trakehner stallion Ibikus.

Limp Bizkit offers a unique feature not found in any other warmblood stallion worldwide: he is the first purebred warmblood roan stallion, guaranteeing that all of his offspring will inherit this striking and rare coat color.

In performance, Limp Bizkit displays an excellent jumping technique, characterized by a well-rounded bascule and fast, efficient leg action. His willingness to work is exceptional. He consistently approaches challenges with focus and composure, never shying away from more demanding tasks. His eagerness to train and perform generates a remarkable work ethic that seems boundless.

In sum, Limp Bizkit combines outstanding conformation, an illustrious pedigree, an extraordinary coat color inheritance, and a vibrant, courageous character—qualities that make him an exceptional stallion for progressive breeding and sport.

Limp Bizkit has found a new owner. The two have become the perfect team. She writes about him:

"Limp Bizkit, also called "Lumpi", has lived with me since 2018. During this time he has developed from a lanky youngster to a proper riding horse. At 172 cm, he is probably fully grown, but will probably gain significant muscle mass. He shows above-average talent in both dressage and jumping, although jumping will certainly be his true calling. From the very first lesson he approaches the jump fearlessly and fluently and shows good manners in free jumping and under the rider. In addition, Lumpi is extremely playful and learns everything that is sold to him as a game very quickly, including his first circus tricks and agility.Off-road, he is easy to trade in any position in the group and at any gait, and he is also courageous Lumpi is always in a good mood and people-oriented.He is exceptionally polite with other horses, gets along well with everyone, but also likes to show the mares how great he is. This horse has an excellent character. He is nice to children, but also offers enough power to challenge more ambitious riders. He brings strength and endurance with him and shows a very good body awareness for his size."

What is the Roan gene and how is it inherited in horses?

The Roan gene is a dominant gene in horses that causes a characteristic pattern of intermixed white and colored hairs on the body, while the head, lower legs, mane, and tail generally remain solid-colored. Horses that inherit one copy of the Roan gene (heterozygous) will display the roan coat pattern and have a 50% chance of passing it on to their offspring. Horses with two copies of the gene (homozygous) also show the roan pattern and will pass it on to all their foals. The Roan pattern does not skip generations and is present at birth, though it may become more visible after the foal coat is shed. It is found in many horse breeds and creates a striking speckled or “frosted” appearance on the horse’s coat. The exact mutation causing the Roan gene has not been fully identified, but it is linked to the KIT gene region. Importantly, Roan is not lethal, and horses can safely inherit one or two copies of the gene.

In the case of Cayanosch and the entire Insterfeuer line, very light shades of roan are typical, creating a softer, more delicate appearance. Interestingly, when the roan gene occurs in other breeds, it often features much darker manes and tails, contrasting with the lighter coat. It can even be said that when the Roan gene appears in warmbloods, the lightening effect is more pronounced if the base color is bay or chestnut. In contrast, in dark bay or black warmbloods, the mane and tail generally remain quite dark despite the roan pattern.

Only a few warmblood horses are homozygous for the Roan gene. A licensed stallion with homozygous Roan color is Limp Bizkit. He is known worldwide as the first homozygous Roan warmblood stallion, and all of his foals will inherit the rare Roan coat color.

What does it mean if a horse is homozygous for roan?

If a horse is homozygous for roan, it means the horse carries two copies of the roan gene (genotype Rn/Rn). This genetic status guarantees that the horse will pass the roan coat color trait to all of its offspring, making 100% of them roan as well.

Homozygous Roans look very similar in appearance to heterozygous roan horses (Rn/rn), so visual distinction is difficult without genetic testing.

In summary, a homozygous roan horse is genetically certain to pass on the roan coat pattern to every foal, enabling breeders to consistently produce this unique and attractive coloration.

Did you know the funny wikipedia Roanhorses story from Europe?

For a long time in Europe, it was believed that horses with the Roan gene only exist in the heterozygous form and that homozygous Roan foals either would not be carried to term or would be stillborn. This false belief persisted for many years, even on Wikipedia, where the responsible editors refused to remove the incorrect statements. Even after Limp Bizkit and his homozygous relatives were genetically confirmed as homozygous Roan and all demonstrated perfect health, the erroneous Wikipedia entry stubbornly remained for several years. The longest persistence of this incorrect information was in Germany, despite the fact that it concerned German horses and German laboratory results.

A touch of uniqueness surrounds him, the Spanish crèmello stallion Poseidon La Columna, because there were only 7 crèmello stallions of his breed in his year. As Pura Raza Espanola, he embodies the modern dressage horse in terms of clear type expression and exceptionally harmonious body formation. Also worth highlighting is the charm and nobility surrounding Poseidon.

The best Spanish bloodlines are united in him, because he is bred in an absolutely interesting way and there are highly rated Spanish celebrities in every line of inheritance, such as Cesar VI, Alamnzor XIX and Carmelo II.

It is suitable for use in pure PRE breeding as well as for the refinement of other breeds such as warmbloods (dressage) or breeds of the working equitation. For crossbreed pairings, it is also suitable for all leisure horse breeds or other baroque breeds.

Little color information: He will pass on a Creme gene to all of his foals because he is a Cremello himself. This means that when mated with a chestnut mare, for example, he will always produce palomino foals. A foal that comes from a normally colored mare cannot have blue eyes, because this is only the case if a double-colored foal is born, which can only happen in connection with a mare that has a cream gene itself.

Auktionar Andreas Aebi: "You can drive 100,000 km to find such a horse and you still don't find it"

Showkommissar Diemar Schulz:

"The splash of color in this year's stallion collection is not only striking in color and appearance, but also moves through the hall with big steps. A horse with exclusive show potential, with powerful footing even in the canter. He was also able to convince at the jump. A stallion, who rightly has a lot of fans.”  (Reiten und Zucht 12/2011, S. 12 )

With Qaside MD we can offer you an absolute rarity in breeding! This beautifully presented stallion impresses not only with his fantastic color, but also with his outstanding movement.

Qaside MD has a generous walk with a lot of tact, diligence and stepping over, that's pure luxury! His elastic trot, which actively works from behind, and his great canter allowed him to win riding horse ability tests straight away. Qaside MD's fantastic character, which was graded 9.5 in his performance tests, as well as his inner calm and sovereignty round off this complete horse.

He also showed these strengths at his licensing at the ZSSE and he deservedly became a premium stallion. At the licensing at the ZfDP, Qaside MD won many more admirers and was also licensed here, as the first and only Cremello in Germany, at a riding horse licensing. Due to its double lightening gene and its excellent quality, Qaside MD is extremely interesting for breeding.

Even as a foal, the son of Quasi Gold MD caused a stir at the foal show in Pretzier when he emerged as the winner with a dream score of 10.0 for movement. During the qualification for the German Foal Championships at the Klosterhof Medingen, all 3 judges gave him a 9.5 for movement. He was also reserve champion of the dressage colts at the foal championships in Neustadt/Dosse.

Qaside MD is also a pearl under the rider, he won riding horse tests and was awarded in Neustadt/ a.d. Dosse Vice State Champion.

His mother, state premium mare Heliosphere MD, was registered as a premium candidate with 54 points in the mare registration of the Trakehner Verband and was the best half-bred mare. After a successful mare performance test with a score of 7.97, she was awarded the premium and also received a premium from the Brandenburg-Anhalt Horse Breeding Association and became a state premium mare. For a long time she was the first and only Trakehner state premium mare in this special color scheme.

.Qaside MD's father, Quasi Gold MD, was a premium stallion at the South German licensing, became the South German champion of 5-year-old eventing horses and was a finalist at the Bundeschampionat. Quasi Gold MD was victorious in all three sub-disciplines at the tournament, won elementary level dressage horse ability tests at the age of 5 and was also successful in breeding. He is succesful up to the S-level in Germany now.

Qaside MD is genetically tested, he has the genetic profile ee AA CrCr. This means that a palomino/isabell comes out of every chestnut mare, a buckskin or isabelle out of every bay or black mare. He does not produce Smoky Blacks.
